"For me, the painting is all about mood and my emotional connection to nature. My desire is to awaken an emotion from the viewer, bringing them to a place and time of significance and fond memories. Infusing the everyday with mood, emotion and soul are why I paint. 19th Century Tonalism and the mood of early evening are a constant source of inspiration for me as I am a hopeless romantic and find the transformation of the landscape in late afternoon light truly spiritual."
